The 27th International Korean Lawyer Conference will be held from September 19, 2019 to September 22, 2019 in Seoul National University, School of Law, which has kindly supported us to host a conference event at their campus for the first time.

IAKL has contributed to make thousands of legal professionals to connect and network, share support and develop communities in all parts of the world. Further, the organization has served to protect and advocate for the interests of those who are most in need through various legal aids and education programs.

As we have reached three decades since the foundation, I believe we have built a strong platform for lawyers of Korean descent and now we sit at an important cross way in continuing to develop and growbeyond our heritage. In acknowledgment and appreciation of those who have provided support to IAKL, and in line with themotif of expansion, we have set the theme of this year’s Conference as “Beyond Korean Heritage.”To that end I hope this theme will provide a meaningful opportunity for us to develop IAKL into a truly global international platform for all lawyers interested in Korea and related practice.

We expect this Conference will present an unparalleled opportunity to exchange knowledge and to create and renew a global network of colleagues and business contacts, including international and domestic lawyers practicing in Korea, in house counsels in the Korean companies and overseas lawyers involved in Korean practice. In addition, a mentoring session will be available by experienced legal professionals from various jurisdictionsto share their expertise. We hope it will serve as a meaningful time to connect with aspiring young legal professionals to shapethe future of IAKL together. We have also prepared social events including conference dinner so each member will be able to freely network with other members during the event.

If you are not already a member of IAKL, I highly recommend that you join – not only for the instant discount from which you benefit for this Conference, but also for the value in the continuous benefits to your education and professional development throughout the year and the connections the IAKL committees can provide.
